Serving Our Generation at “Amplified” YC 13

This year’s SPD Youth Convention was held November 22-24, 2013 in Palms Spring, CA., where more than 3,000 youth attended and left with new, unforgettable memories. We had special guest like Andy Mineo for a rap concert and Bj Putman leading worship. LABI students served as ushers, greeters, helping in registration, media production and even hosting. Although it was overwhelming, it was a great privilege to be behind the scenes and being used by God at Youth Convention. Every student that served gained a different perspective, knowledge and respect for our leaders– appreciating every detail.

Homecoming

Homecoming

On Saturday, October 19, 2013, LABI held it’s first Homecoming event. This event consisted of Alumni coming back to where God changed their lives. They had the opportunity to come and see how the school has changed and what is planned for the future. They went on a tour around campus taking everything in, letting all those memories come back to mind. They were also able to interact with current students in a basketball and volley ball tournament.
To conclude this event, everyone gathered up in chapel for worship from the Alumni worship team, as well from current students, including worship art. Testimonies were given from Alumni sharing what they have been doing since they graduated from LABI and the Ministries they have been involved with. Second year students received prayer from Alumni blessing them and giving them encouragement to carry on in God’s path.

Reaccion Sin Limites

Reaccion Sin Limites

On October 5, 2013, LABI’s Spanish Ministry Pastor, Antonio Reyes, held “Reaccion Sin Limites”. This was an all spanish event with training workshops and special services that expressed ministry with no limits. It was great seeing many young people come and learn more about what God has in store for their ministry. We know God used this event to make a clear calling to this generation, that we as Hispanics should not just limit ourselves due to where we are from, but rather minister boldly– without limits.

Courageous Step

Courageous Step

On September 7, 2013, LABI held its annual Beach Day with a twist– baptisms. Six students and one staff member decided to take that step of obedience and commitment to the Lord. We know that more challenges will come, but with the help of our God Almighty they will stand tall and strong. Just like a palm tree, they will bend and be shaken a bit, but from this point on, they will not break. They will also be encouraged, supported and reminded by the LABI family that they are not alone.
It was such a beautiful sight to witness because I was able to see their desire and passion for the Lord.

A Passionate Praise

A Passionate Praise

Today during Spanish Chapel the presence of the Lord was present. The Holy Spirit moved in a majestic way through the preaching of Pastor Asenath, Women’s Ministry Pastor. She encouraged us to not fight for God’s love because we already have it. The students poured out their hearts and let the Lord into their minds to take away any thoughts from the past that was interfering with their spiritual growth. As they prayed passionately, and continue to do so, they will see that they made the right decision in obeying God to take the courageous step into His plans for their lives.
Dios tiene grandes cosas y El suplida.
